Welcome to R E D L E A T H E R

~ Welcome to Red Leather, the group of crazy Genesis fangirls! <3;
Yes, we're that insane bunch of Genesis fangirls that you might remember from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Recognise us? Yeah, of course you do.
Who could forget?
Well, we're still up and running, despite Genesis' reported disappearance. ShinRa denies his very existence, surprisingly. It's like even saying his name is forbidden, that company just calls him 'G' now. What a disgrace to dear Genesis...
Anyway, feel free to browse around! We're always welcoming new members, so check out the rest of this journal for details. We've got a few competitions running at different times of the year, along with wonderful submissions from our dedicated club members.
Red Leather is constantly getting larger, so take some time to get to know some of us fangirls here. We're all a lovely bunch, despite the fact that we're insane. -sweatdrop-
Anyway, I've got some business to attend to. Leading Red Leather isn't easy, lemme tell you! But we all live in hope that Genesis will return one day.
After all, in Genesis' own words...
'Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.'

Date: 14.7.09
Well, how about that? I actually fixed this club up!
Though with a few complications and a few stupid mistakes on my part, actually. -sweatdrop-
I acknowledge that the posting of such deviations that were the deviant IDs that contained screenshots was indeed wrong, and I have acted accordingly so that they have been removed. Apart from that, I would appreciate if people could drop everything related to that comment regarding the copyright, otherwise other arguments will be sparked. And dA doesn't need more drama. @_@; I'd like to move on from those mistakes on Red Leather from a few days ago, so I'd like it if we'd all leave that comment and it's owner alone now. Of course, I appreciate the support some members have given me though <3; ~
Thanks guys!

Genesis Rhapsodos...?

Genesis Rhapsodos is the main antagonist from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, playing a huge role in influencing the Final Fantasy VII storyline. He also makes a brief appearance at the end of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, being seen taking Weiss and flying off.
Genesis is commonly known for quoting the epic poem 'LOVELESS', a tale of three friends searching for the 'gift of the goddess'. He has an affinity towards fire-based materia and often chooses red as his colour preference. He bares a silken black wing on his left shoulder, possessing the gift of flight despite only having one wing. His character design was based off the popular Japanese singer, Gackt Camui.
As for his background, Genesis grew up in a quiet village called Banora, home of the famous 'dumbapples' and his best friend Angeal Hewley. He happened across a copy of LOVELESS whilst in his parent's study, and thus sparked his obsession towards the piece of literature. He presumably joined SOLDIER some time during his teenage years along with Angeal, taking the journey to becoming 1st Class. Along the way, the two childhood friends bonded with Sephiroth and formed a strong friendship.
The real trouble began when a training session got out of hand and Genesis sustained a stab wound to the shoulder from Angeal's broken sword. After gaining treatment to the wound, Genesis learned that he was a product of Project G (Gillian), the first experiment that used Jenova cells to produce another Cetra. This caused Genesis to believe he was a failure and a monster, and he abandons ShinRa with a group of other lower ranking SOLDIERS.
And thus, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII begins. -le gaspeh-
Want to join?

So, now you might be asking, 'how do I join this elite league group of Genesis fans?'
Well, if you abide by these little guidelines, all shall be well 8D
Obviously, you like Genesis Rhapsodos. Why else would you be here?
While we accept members who like yaoi, we will never support, promote or submit anything yaoi related to this club. A large majority of members do not wish to see it, nor do I. So if that's a problem for you, then don't join. Simple enough.
We're fangirls. Emphasis on girls. I'd advise you not to join if you're a guy, though if you really want too, well...I can't really stop you. -sweatdrop- [I mean, after all, we do have a few rogue males around here...-shifty eyes-]
If those aren't an issue for you, simply +devWATCH the club, and we'll do likewise back! : D ~
Submitting artwork?

Well, after coming across the wonderful submission system found on =LifeNoteClub, our club runs by a favourite/collection submission system. We simply add the piece to our collection and it gets displayed under the slideshow on the profile page. Now, how does one make sure their art is applicable?
Check with the nifty guidelines, that's all!
Ohkay, find a piece of artwork in your own gallery.
Oh, make sure it's of Genesis or has him in it. ;D
Send the link to the artwork in a note!
If I approve it, it'll be collected ASAP ~ (:
...updates to continue during the day!

FAQ #8: What does deviantART consider to be Art Theft?
Current deviantART policy defines 'Art Theft' to be any situation where a user takes the original art, photography, or writing of another person (a 'third party') and then either misrepresents the original, unaltered work as one of their own creations or includes the work (either altered or unaltered) in a new image.
Generally speaking any submission which is directly built upon the existing work of another artist or photographer can be considered to be a case of art theft. These works may feature screenshots, official artwork or sprites taken from a video game, scans from an art book, artwork found on a website somewhere on the internet or a photograph of a famous person (just to name a few examples), but in every case the 'seed image' is the legal property of another artist. In many cases these 'seed images' are manipulated, colored over, blended with other images, and otherwise digitally worked over but none of this makes the use acceptable or allowed.
These submissions will be removed regardless of whether you have credited or linked back to the original source. Knowing where you ‘found’ the original image or knowing who created it or took the photo is not the same as actually having the legal permission to use it in your submission.
Only valid, legal, stock resources are allowed to be used as part of your deviantART submission. Public Domain imagery and works governed by certain Creative Commons licenses may also be used.
FAQ #157: Can I use things created by other people in my submissions?
You are allowed to use any valid stock resources providing that you obey the terms and conditions set by the stock provider.
For works which are not valid stock resources you must first obtain a license or other proper permission for use. Information on permissions and providing them is detailed elsewhere in the FAQ
You may also use materials governed by a Creative Commons license providing that you obey the terms of the licensing.
Failure to obey all of the required Terms and Conditions or License requirements attached to the stock may result in the removal of your submission
Please be aware that not all websites are considered legitimate stock imagery resources. Only the legal owner of the imagery has the ability to offer the work as a stock resource- if the 'stock' website includes images taken from print or film, or includes photographs featuring celebrities or supermodels then you may rest assured that it is not a valid resources site. Likewise "Render" websites are not valid stock sources as they offer copyrighted materials which have been cut apart and which are offered by people without the legal right to do so.
Also be aware that the lack of obvious copyright information does not imply that the imagery is free for use. Always assume that everything you see is copyright protected by default.
You are only allowed to use stock resources and material governed by a 'creative commons' license, and even then you have to obey the terms of the licensing.
By the way, what in the bloody hell is a 'ppl'?

I just praised him on how threatening it was, no offense to fellow members. I was just amazed at this guy's knowledge. That's all.

You took my heart
Deceived me right from the start
You showed me dreams
I wished they'd turn to real
You broke the promise
And made me realize
It was all just a lie

Also, if you take the time to read Mike's comment you'll realize that he's one hundred percent correct about what he said.

Btw, who are you and what's with this sudden need to jump in his defense, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm a friend of Mike's who just happen to stumble across this comment string and decided to have a talk.
As for how I know Ralphie, I was the person who reported the violations in his gallery, and got them removed.
I've only spoken to him a few times, but he seems like a nice guy. That's why I felt the need to come to his defense.
By the way, what exactly is it that you believe that he should have pointed out to the club staff? Mike's comment of the club's policy violations?
